Natasha Curham

Natasha Curham graduated as a Speech Pathologist from La Trobe University in 2004 with First Class Honours, having undertaken her Honours project investigating voice in Parkinson’s disease. She brings more than 20 years of clinical experience across acute, sub-acute and rehabilitation settings and has maintained a strong interest in voice and laryngology throughout her career.
Natasha initially worked with our sister practice, Voice Medicine Australia, from 2006 before undertaking clinical and professional roles internationally. She worked in London and Glasgow before moving to Wellington, New Zealand, where she was Professional Leader of the Speech Language Therapy team at Wellington Hospital and also ran a private practice. These roles provided her with broad clinical experience across complex medical, neurological and rehabilitation populations, as well as extensive experience in clinical leadership, multidisciplinary practice and supervision.
We have maintained a strong professional connection with Natasha throughout this time, and she continued to provide online consultations for MVAC clients while overseas. We were delighted when she returned to Australia in 2019 to re-join the MVAC clinical team, bringing her extensive international experience and broad clinical perspective back to the practice.
Natasha has a strong commitment to collaborative and multidisciplinary assessment and management. Alongside her work with Melbourne Voice Analysis Centre, she works at Barwon Health as a Senior Speech Pathologist and Laryngology Lead. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of voice presentations in both adults and children, including neurological voice disorders, transgender voice and communication, performer’s voice and other complex voice and laryngology presentations.
Natasha also has extensive experience in the assessment and management of upper airway disorders, including chronic cough and vocal cord dysfunction. She has worked closely with respiratory physician colleagues in the management of these complex presentations, integrating speech pathology assessment and treatment with medical and respiratory perspectives.
Natasha has made a strong contribution to the profession through leadership, education and professional service. She served on the Board of the Laryngology Society of Australasia as the New Zealand Representative and has remained an active member of the Society. She regularly participates in national and international professional development and has presented at speech pathology, voice and laryngology conferences, including internationally. She is also committed to clinical supervision and mentoring, supporting the development of other clinicians in laryngology and voice.
Natasha is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and is committed to evidence-based, individualised care within a multidisciplinary laryngology team.
